A director at Core Business Accountants, Scott Trevor is an experienced business tax advisor, providing services for business clients that include strategic blueprints for tax management, structures and mentoring for business owners.
Scott’s clients are the owners of small to medium-sized businesses on the Sunshine Coast. They include professional service firms in marketing, real estate, town planning, property development, security, and legal services.
Through well-considered taxation strategies, Scott helps his clients to legally minimise their business tax obligations. This may include ensuring that tax effective structures are in place and providing tax advice in relation to super/SMSF and estate planning.
Scott’s clients also benefit from business structure and asset protection advice for implementing appropriate ownership structures for each client’s specific circumstances and other strategies for limiting a business owner’s personal risk.
As a business mentor, Scott’s focus is on developing a full understanding of the business and the business owner’s needs and goals so that his advice considers both business and personal financial outcomes. He partners with business clients to review cash flow, profitability, retirement planning and management practices in search of insights and new business opportunities.
Scott’s specialisation in superannuation and self-managed superannuation funds (SMSF) authorises him to provide professional support, advice and administrative services for SMSF trustees. These services, that enable SMSF trustees to manage their SMSF with confidence and ease, include structure advice, compliance management, taxation advice for maximising tax-free income, and preparation of annual financial statements, member reports and income tax returns.
Colleagues identify perseverance as a quality that directly benefits Scott’s clients as he champions their best interests, which often involves complex and time-consuming research and investigation. Scott is known for tackling difficult tasks and making the types of unexpected discovery that translates into increased profitability, enhanced cash flow and savings that can influence or achieve business outcomes.
Highly skilled when it comes to navigating complex financial statements, he believes in looking beyond the ledger to offer clients a big-picture view of their financial life.
Scott’s appetite for knowledge, his own holistic approach to money management and his leadership role within a team of highly qualified professionals enable him to deliver the advice and services his clients need to achieve their goals.
Personally…
A sports allrounder, Scott enjoys surfing, watching the Brisbane Broncos and playing cricket. His passion for the latter has included a visit to Lord’s cricket ground, to watch the Aussies play Pakistan in 2010. Scott has also travelled to Monaco for the Formula 1 Grand Prix.
Closer to home, and every chance he gets, Scott goes fishing with his brothers in a stretch of the Maroochy River where his grandparents once owned a sugarcane farm.
